A Rhyming Poem

Sentimental is losing its appeal,
and unrequited adoration, a somber ordeal.
Melancholy only seeks sympathy,
no charming comforts of intimacy.

As infantile as I once was,
my existence lacking any cause,
poets preached of the Lover’s Laws,
and youthful desire magnified my flaws.

But the law young Lovers learn,
omits the ache which is to yearn...
